I can see, without ever having sold insurance, why an agency might tend to avoid writing these kinds of policies. Hard to value them, because they are oftentimes non-standard. Or put another way, they cost more than they are worth. That's true with modern cars and trucks too.
Then there's folks who want to use them as daily drivers, and park them on the street. A lot of risk they are assuming, and they would have to charge some high premiums I'd think, scaring away customers. They are easy to steal. And the average agent don't understand the collector car market, parts availability, custom stuff..
