6.7L Oil Filter Source?
Where are you guys buying filters? I found the at Amazon for $17.08. I figure that as long as I'm going to buy a Motorcraft filter I should find the lowest possible price.
I also found a 12 pack that gets the price down to 14.94 each (free shipping). I was thinking a pack of 6 would do, but 12 wouldn't be unreasonable. It's not like they go bad.
That's a good price. Shipping is free as long as the order is for more than $250. I would have to either go in on an order with one of the local guys or buy a bunch of other stuff in bulk also.
Been using the HP-2010 on my F150 for years. Without the 1" nut on the end it is impossible to get off. Some doofuss decided it would be a good idea to put the filter above the front diff. Standard MO is to hand tighten. But it tightens itself up as time goes on.
There's no space to get any oil wrench up in there. So with the 1" nut it is easy peasy to take off. Even though it is still a little painful.

I have been using similar filters with 1" nut on bottom on Aircraft engines for years. It makes it so easy to break a filter free.
Before removing a filter I punch a drain hole in the bottom a small hole at the top to let air in while it's draining.
