Oil/Filter Prices
Getting ready to do my first oil change. Decided to go with Rotella 15-40 over Motorcraft just because of price. At my local Ford dealer the Motorcraft was $3.77/qt, while I can buy Rotella for $1.50/qt. Also I hated to do it but I bought an oil filter from the dealer - $30. Anybody else seen comparable prices - seems kind of outragious to me. Also does anybody know any good internet sites to buy filters from??

Good Source for WIX Oil Filters
I just ordered filters from www.filter1.com. If you order any mix of filters that add up to six the shipping is free. I paid $11.68 for the oil filter and $38 for the fuel filter set. They are Wix filters, and are one of the top rated filters. Wix also makes NAPA's filters. In my opinion with all the vehicles most of us own ordering six filters at a time is easy to do. Hope this helps.

I have purchased the Motorcraft oil & filter from two different dealers for $51-55. Both of them indicated that they discounted the filter to $18 to be competitive. One of the dealers will do a complete oil & filter service for $55 on the 6.0 (just to get you in the door) although I prefer to do it myself.

you can get the motorcraft oil at wal-mart for about $1.50 or so a qt, less then 1/2 what the dealers charge.. I use Rotella T myself and been getting it at Wel-mart for $6.27 gal. my last 2 oil changes I got the oil filter at the dealer but a local parts store in my town is now stocking the Motorcraft filters for the 6.0 for around $16.
