The problem started the other day at a red light, went to take off and the truck dies. after a few tries it stays running and I drove home (about 3 miles). the next morning it refused to run, fires, then immediately dies, as if I'd turned off the key. thought it was the camshaft position sensor and replaced it, same situation. checked (visually) the engine wiring harness and fuel, all seems ok. I need help and/or suggestions to diagnose this problem, anybody? 1999 F250 Powerstroke
You can search it here or google it, there's a boatload of info on it. The intake inside the fuel tank is prone to failure and it's a modification to remedy that. There is also a 'Hutch' mod that is good to do at the same time, also lots of info on it in a search.
Check the fuel pump performance. Does it maintain pressure above 50PSIG? Things that stop immediately sound electrical to me. When it fails does the WTS light come on when you try a restart? Do you have any tools? Can you measure fuel pressure? Log data?
Did you try it with the ICP disconnected?
