Longtime lurker, first time poster. Lots of great info here.
I have a 2017 F350 with front bench in a Lariat. We like the bench for the extra seating, but looking to see how/where everyone is mounting their CB's? With the upfitters the over head mount seems to be out, in my 2013 I had it mounted to the dash directly to the right of the drivers leg and just clearing the folding cup holder.
I think I'm going VHF this time around. It seems to be what everyone else is using in Baja and you can get some ridiculous range out of them. I might even get a HAM and get access to the repeater networks. I built my own mini console that goes where the 6th person's feet would go, I'll post some pics when I get it all installed.
I don't have a 2017 truck but I use a compact Uniden cb and I mount it just forward of my left knee right above the park brake handle. I'm not crazy about the compact radio vs. full size but there really isn't anywhere ideal to mount one. My right thigh has air tank and air bag psi manifold so there's no room anywhere within arms reach.
Not a CB but my VHF/UHF Ham radio has a separation kit and I mounted the head just under the HVAC controls in front of the USB and 12v input. I can still access the USB but the 12v is blocked. I used heavy duty 2 sided tape to secure it (made my 3M). Works great. Antenna, i used this. Mounts/Brackets only | Comet Antenna Specificly FO3ANTNCG
I take it that you mounted a holder for the mic on the console, but how and where did you run the antenna coax?
Tet taught me to plan ahead.
There are a few rubber plugs on the bottom side of the floorboard. it's bit of a hassle fishing the coax out to the outer edge of the carpet but that how I will do it. I have not jet mounted the antenna in my truck but this is how I've done it until now. The microphone I just leave on the console or seat. There's really no need to mount the microphone unless you just want to.

"Note: For stability, our brackets are made of 14 gauge stainless steel."
How do you keep the different metals from causing issues?
Is this a CB radio or a VHF?
I noticed in the description that a license is required but also that channels 9 and 19 are monitored?
The Stryker SR89MC is one of those exports that can be converted to work on 11 meters. It has two (2) power settings and all of the controls are in the microphone.
I WAS CHECKING ON CB /ECT ANTENNA MOUNT BULLET PROOF DIESEL HAS ONE THAT MOUNTS ON THIRD LIGHT ASSEMBLE AND THE USE IT FOR BAJA RACES SO IT SHOULD WORK ANY WERE AND HAS 15 FT CABLE COST $330 .
LOL, but its "BAJA tested". That is a real laugh..........$330! And it doesn't include a mast (probably $800). Thats fine, they can keep they're product, I'll wait for a Chinese version to come out, these trucks are still new and the aftermarket companies are working on accessories.
