The speedometer on my '97 F-350 doesn't move until the truck reaches approx. 20-25 mph. This is keeping the automatic transmission from shifting into a higher gear. I have been shifting manually, which works, but I am trying to sell the vehicle and this won't help. I have removed, disassembled and reinstalled the entire guage console and cleaned all of the contact points to no avail. HELP!!!
Just a possiblity but maybe you have a bad connection to the speed sensor or the speed sensor itself may be going out. It's on top of the rear differential.
After taking a look, it seems like something that would be relativleyeasy and inexpensive to replace. True of False? I hope you folks are right thanks for your help.
Thanks a lot fellas!! That was the problem. It cost me 20$ for the part from FORD and took less than ten minutes to change. It runs like a champ again!!! Thanks, again.
