Question Aftermarlet relay question

I acquired a 30amp aftermarket relay that was made for off-road lights that I'm going to use for an electric fan on my oil coolers and have questions about the spade terminals:

One is marked fused power from battery, which I intend to connect to a fuse block directly off the battery, with an inline 30a fuse (30/51).

Ground even I understand (85).

Another is marked To Switching Means, which I assume means to an ignition on source (86).

Two are marked Power to Lamps, which I assume is the power source to whatever, in my case an electric fan (87/87A).

Question 1: I'll only be using one of the power terminals, so just block off the extra terminal?

Question 2: To run a toggle switch to override the power, put it inline with the power source wire?

Thanks,

George

Aftermarlet relay question

G,
"Question 2: To run a toggle switch to override the power, put it inline with the power source wire?" - do you mean to contriol the relay ?..then it should be in-line w/the ign source (";ignition on source (86)") - so you don't run full batty current through the switch; such as this:

Aftermarlet relay question

So the toggle switch should control through the relay?

Aftermarlet relay question

yes george.
The toggle switch should be in the line from the ignition source and NOT in the battery ckt which would be the large wire
