08-2017 POWERSTROKE DIFFERENCES

i own a 08 f350 6.4 power stroke thinking about upgrading to a newer model but curious if they still havent fixed PDF/EGR probs ?

i hat the fact these models have the whole PDF/EGR problems... living in Hawaii it's hard to clean out exhaust filter properly due to short mileage highways.... stop go traffic island wide.. I hear solutions of flashing/deleting PDF/EGR wich is minimal risk(correct me if I'm wrong) this will Bypass the need of cleaning ex. Filter. Wich I've had to do once.. diesel is king of torque but if I'm not towing anything and I just love to build big beasts to cruise in am I wasting money on the powerstroke compared to gass f350? Does gas and diesel have same mpg cause hawaiis price is $1 more a gallon. I love the diesel but it feels like it cost 5x more to maintain... input and facts are truly appreciated 🤙🏽

Does Hawaii do emissions testing? With your type of driving I can forsee problems with the Egr and the exhaust junk on it. Some say they don't have problems but here in Maine,those who don't do a delete have problems....mostly with exhaust sensors shuting them down

hawaii doesnt have emissions testing.. would you say it's safe to delete PDF/. And flash the EGR?

Yeah, but I did the full delete...then throw in a tune...she'll come to life. But with your type of driving, I almost think you're better off with a gas job???

Test drive a 2013 or newer with a 6.2.

Cost more to delete EGR righ than a flash? How much u pay for delete, would it be safe to flash EGR /. Bypass it. Or will it come back and bite me in the pockets later?

Honestly, I've never heard of flashing it. My total delete and tune was 4000...parts labor,the whole job.

if it was me i would forget the diesel, pain in the *** stay with the gas especially since you dont tow anything, $8,000 option for the diesel, you can buy a lot of engine upgrades for that.

Yeah possibly on a new purchase but did they fix that probs yet on '17
