check engine light in mornings only

ok, when i go out to my truck in the mornings and start it the check engine light will come on ad sty one till i get to school and turn the truck off, but after school the light dosen't come one, any ideas? also my horn dose work but when i push the horn button there is a tick noise on the right hand side of the dash, any ideas on this?

What is the truck specs ..... Model , engine , year etc etc ?

I would guess some piece of emissions equipment is creating a fault...maybe a sensor which is operating out of parameters in lower temps? As for the horn thing, the clicking you hear is a relay. The windshield washer pump should also have one in the same area... both are perfectly normal

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-Nov-01 AT 10:02 AM (EST)]it is an 89 f-150 with a 302 and AOD, went mudding this morning and the truck died in some water(i thought oh crap) but it started right up(thankfully) and the light went off. it was on till the truck died.
