Let's talk intakes...

Ive been shopping them recently and can't decide what to get...no limit or absolute performance. Really the only difference I can see between the two is no limit has the lower support brace which might be the deciding factor for me. Thoughts?

Absolute Performance 2017 Cold Air Intake Kit

No Limit 2017 6.7 Cold Air Intake

Can't go wrong with either. Mike at No Limit and Steve at Absolute are two of the best.

What is the benefit? Is it more efficient over stock?

Much more airflow when compared to the stock intake. Won't see a real benefit until you are trying to make more power.

No real point in an intake until custom tunes are out, no?

Agreed. More air flow does no good without more fuel unless the intake was restricted in the 1st place. If the restriction is in the exhaust you've still gained nothing. Most am intakes are more bling than power for the average owner. The truck may be slightly faster since there is less weight in your wallet.

I don't need a CAI but I do miss the wonderful turbo whistle.
Then again it's pretty cool they are so quite now.
I'm kinda on the fence myself.

In my opinion, that is correct. Guys claim better throttle response on a stock truck. I really don't know.

An A/M intake was a must on my 6.4 when it was tuned. They demanded a LOT of airflow. When I dyno'd my 2012, it made 497HP, but went into limp mode on the last run because I was still running a stock intake. I really don't see a need for em in stock form.

If it matters to anyone, removing the intake baffles designed to eliminate engine sound can be a nice touch. I enjoy my cai because I can hear the engine and I can clean and reuse my filter. I've got 160,000 miles on my washable cone and I like the deep tone it allows me to listen to.

I wonder if these would make that awful howl go away under light to medium boost.

I know this thread is specifically discussing intakes for the 6.7 but does anyone have any information/sources for either a K&N replacement filter or an intake setup for the 2017 6.2 ? I have looked and not found anything for the 2017's.

I'm in the market for a 6.2L intake system as well but none out so far. I've been searching with no luck. All I want is the piping with filter.
