I have a headlight going bad on my truck '00 F-250 with a 7.3. What brand bulb is best? I was thinking just get Motorcraft but I'd have to order. I know my buddies '13 Chevy burns out anything that isn't GM original. I heard changing the bulbs in these trucks is a pain so figured I'd do it right the first time.
They arent hard to change and they come with sylvania bulbs from the factory. Motorcraft doesn't make their own bulb. I would get some silver star ultras off line for about half what they cost in the store but they do have a shorter life than the other lower tier options or just go to Walmart or any auto parts store and grab some 9007's of your choice off the shelf and throw them in.
I've never tried it, but apparently if you replace the headlight wiring harness with a heavy duty one, it's supposed to give you a much stronger light.
I see. I've watched a couple videos but still don't understand how you get the headlight out to change the bulb? One video says four Philips screws but I don't see any of those.
Yeah not sure. I don't think it was that way when I bought it. Just got dim one day. I'll go get a new socket tomorrow from somewhere. Maybe two, just in case. I'd image you just splice the new one in right?
