Anyone else had this issue? I picked my truck up 3 days ago and noticed it today while the sun was bright. The dealer said they will fix it. Needless to say, I'm disappointed in this, after dropping 60+ thousand dollars.
The defect must have gotten by the inspectors. Should be an easy fix but make sure they clear coat the entire door. Patch painting won't hold up with clear coat finishes.

Thank you for the advice! Yeah, I figured it was something to that effect. I missed it on the walk-around upon taking delivery. It still makes me queasy to know how much I wrote a check for, and found this today.
Kind of makes you wonder what else the inspectors missed. I can deal with human error to a point but these trucks are almost priced in the luxury car bracket and I think we all expect far more attention to detail given the price point. Let us know how the dealer handles it.

I agree with you completely! Overall, im ecstatic about the truck this far. I'll keep you all posted.
Base on my vehicle 1 and 2 I starting to think there is no inspectors.
Factory defects include:
Two separate paint discolorations
Forced installed faulty brake assembly
Broken clips on wiring harness
And seemingly endless electrical issues on both rides
Good new is the reprinting of the oxford white roof of the truck seemed to match nicely.

Wow! I haven't had any of those. (Knock on wood) I hope they can get it fixed like it never happened.
Ford hasn't really had the best history with aluminium, which is why I was apprehensive about buying this truck. Mustang and Fusion hoods, Expedition trunks to name a few problem models. There is actually a lawsuit against them about this very matter.

There is no excuse for Paint defects being the trucks are rolled through and area that is extremely bright with white lights shining on every exterior area of the truck (I know someone who works in the field is line driving the trucks out of the factory). However, not everything will be caught when trucks roll off every minute.

Explorer hoods as well.
However, the F150 and Superduty use a new process for Paint adhesion and it seems to be working.
Same thing happened to my 2016 Explorer Sport. I swapped it out for a new vehicle, no issues. My thought was the same. Paid all this money for vehicle and I don't want body work done a week later because of a defect.
Sucks to be somebody that got a truck with a defect...but literally thousands of these trucks are rolling through the "bright room" with just human eyes looking for defects. It seems inevitable some defects will be missed. The dealer will make defects right.
My truck had a couple of minor defects. A scratch right through the paint, about 1" long and 1/16" wide on the right dually fender. Not terribly noticeable, and since the fender is plastic and rust is not possible...I let it go. Plus two small "bumps" in the paint near one of the taillights. Rather than have the factory finish disturbed, I let it go as well.
Some folks are going to be extremely picky. I agree major flaws should be corrected, but come on...its going to get scratches on it during its life.

I agree. A minor scratch, I would've probably let it go. I buy trucks to be used. But, I certainly don't want to see a paint defect like this, after I've dropped a significant amount of my savings on something I've anticipated for a year.
Option C the value of the truck vs the costs to repair seemingly minor defects which may or may not get notice by the customer out weight each other.
The additional costs to pull a truck off the line inspect them further and repair likely is more then just having the end user deal with it. Why stop the line because you have 3 minutes to install brakes. One does not fit correctly so you hammer it in and off it goes. No one will notice until it starts seeing ware and at that point can blame user error or something the likes.
QA for a large company likely costs more then the warranty issues that follow.
