Interesting thing about the GVWR, at least in California, I can register my F350 that has an 11,500 gvwr for 15,000 lbs, all it takes is $$$$$$ and the state will give me 15 stickers for the side of the truck and on the registration. All they care about is money, especially, well CA.

In fact, I registered an F350 dually flatbed I own for my business, which has a 14,000 lb gvwr, at 18,000 lbs. just had to pony up the cash to get the stickers and registration. We go over the scales often weighing more than 14,000 lbs and never been questioned.

For commercial purposes, it depends on the state.

At least several states I know of do not really care what the sticker says.

It's whatever weight you are willing to pay for. That's what will be legal, as long as you're not over the tire ratings.

2017 XLT CC SB 4x4 here. Sticker says 3250 lbs of payload. GVW is 10k. 15-16 mpg on the interstate at 70mph. Town driving is definitely worse like 10-12 mpg but diesels are kind of bad for that now too with DPF regens. 75k miles will be a walk in the park for the 6.2. It will probably go 300k+.
