Trim Interior Issue

I notice this past weekend that my trim around the nav screen started to peel. I have not touched this area and I do not get into the truck dirty. Heck the truck only has 2000 miles and something has made this trim panel started peeling. I tried wiping it off as I thought it was grease or substance but when I did the trim piece just spotted. I am going to the dealer on Friday to have them look at it but anyone else notice this?

Also if warranty does not cover it for some odd reason does anyone know the part # for this piece? I will order it myself it they dont want to honor it.

The warranty will likely honor it.

Have you had any warranty work done to your vehicle by the dealer? For instance, the Sync media bay cover (where the USB ports are under) tends to stick and not work well. The dealer replaced a lot of these, and it requires taking that panel off. Perhaps they damaged it somehow.

Time to just upgrade to the iPad dash kit. :-)

I would bet that someone at the dealership had some oil or some type of chemical on their hand and rested it there. That's exactly where someone would brace their hand while they press buttons with their thumb.

In all seriousness, the iPad kits are pretty cool.

Well the good news is that it's not that invasive to just snap on a new piece.

I looked those up. Not sure what they do. What is the iPad used for in the truck?

Here is a link to the popular one.

2017+ F250/350/450 Ipad In-Dash Kit | Retro Customz

Basically you end up with a fully functioning iPad there in the dash that will do 100% of what an iPad does.

Yeah that's the one I looked up.... I guess I'm not seeing the point of it. Does it interface with the truck in some way?

I was hoping warranty would cover it. Kinda figured they would. Also wanted you guys to keep a eye out on yours as well in case this starts to show up on other trucks.

So went to the dealer and they denied my claim, saying it was scratched purposely. So I called to see how much the part is and they told me over $500. Going in tomorrow to gripe and complain. The dash is actually peeling now. It has new spots on it this week. I have no idea what this is from. I work in a office environment and I never touch these areas of the dash so I have no clue.

Anyone have a service manager here in Houston they know that I can talk to?

It doesn't surprise me they denied the claim. I have a wheel that the finish was messed up from day 1, but I didn't notice it the day I picked it up because it was raining. I noticed it that night and texted the salesman. He said no problem we'll get it taken care of when you come in for your first service. Took it in for the service and Ford denies the warranty claim because I used improper and/or abrasive wheel cleaner on it. I've never touched the wheels. It took a phone call to the salesman, but the dealership is taking care of it even though Ford denied it. Good luck!

Tell them you are going to give them a bad score on their survey. I got a phone call from the service manager less than five minutes after submitting a negative survey one time. I won't go into the details of the problem, but he made sure I had a loaner truck and that my warranty problem was resolved.
