My F350 4x4 crewcab longbed has a payload of 4,146 lbs. With the 11,500 lb package my truck should weigh 7,354 lbs empty. Is that possible? That seems low to me. What am I missing?
Payload assumes weight of the driver at 200 lbs and a full tank of fuel, all accessories coming with the truck. I would say your pretty close. When you weighted the truck were you in it and full fuel? Almost exactly same as mine for sticker payload and weight. 50 gallons of fuel weighs a fair bit.
OP, only way to be sure is to go get the truck weighed. My truck (F350 crew cab longbed diesel) weighed in at just over 8,300lbs with me in it. I weigh a crisp 194 (been stuck on that weight for a while now).
It appears as though your truck is a gasser given the payload figure (posting from my phone, so I can't see your signature if you have one). If it is than it may very weigh less than 8,000lbs.
You appear to have it right - mind you I am not best at reading all the info, but this how came to that answer.
Running your vin on esti website - Your truck is a 6.2 gas srw 4X4 crew cab f350?
Looking at the Ford base weights on https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas...ps_-_Specs.pdf
On page 36 the base curb weight of the 175 in wheel base matching the above specs is 6984 lbs. Then you need to add your accessories etc. I think that would put you in the ballpark of the door sticker.
If I read something wrong just lookup "your" trucks specs on that PDF and add the accessories weight etc that you have. Nothing is better than taking your truck to the scales thou as other have indicated.
I have a 6.2 gas SRW 4x4 CCLB F350 with 11,300 gvwr and took it to the scale on the way home the day I purchased it. Full tank of gas, no aftermarket accessories and I got out and it scaled out at 7,180. Payload sticker says 3,972. So, 7,180 + 3,972 is 148 lbs shy of the 11,300 rating. Must be the allowance for a small driver.
