If your willing to pay the shipping up front from Canada I will send you mine once they change the body control module in my truck. The old card will be rubbish to me.
Come to think of it I might have a few cards seeing as how they replaced the old BCM in my other truck as well lol I guess having multiple electrical issues can have a benefit.
I don't even care what code is on it in fact I would prefer to get one that has a different code than mine vs an exact replacement although that would be nice to have too, because if another thief breaks in my truck and takes it, I could always change the code and they would never know the original one if I had a card with a "non-permanent" code.
Apparently there is a thief out there with your permanent code. Did he get your address or any personal information? Did this happen at home or a place you frequently park at? Did he do any damage to your truck? He could come back and use the code to get in.
Yes. As far as I know they didn't take anything with my personal info. This happened 4 hours from where I live and I don't go there much. See my other thread about damage.
I really would like a replacement for my original to keep at home in my safe to go with the truck if/when I sell it, but no one at Ford can help me. I have to change the bdycm to change the permanent code and I'm not going to pay $800 plus to do it and I'm not sure if that comes with a code card or not. However you can add different codes to the system up to 10 different ones I believe that can be changed. My thinking was to get another card with a different code on it and add that code in so if anyone got that card somehow I could always change that code and they wouldn't have the original code. Sorry this is confusing to so many here.
If you can't find a card, I would recommend just writing a 5-digit number on a piece of paper or the back of a business card. Make it nice and prominent in the event some douchebag breaks into your truck and gets it. That way he'll think he won the lotto only to be monumentally disappointed. Just my $.02.
I would look up the procedure for swapping the module - then if you can do it at home go to the wreckers and get a replacement / install that and keep no cards in the truck , ever

lol but a sponge stuffed full of needles and razor blades would give the K9 unit something to follow

They need programming once installed so I don't think that is something you can do plus the BCM is for the 17 year model so finding one at a wrecker might be difficult.

I like things to be as they left the factory. For me, I need a card that is not homemade and is actually from Ford. Making one myself is no better than not having one at all. I never imagined it would be so expensive and/or difficult to solve something that seems so simple.

It is simple, just move on about living your life.
this post is an attempt to say something constructive .. please bare with me as you read it - it may not seem to start that way
I read your other thread about this
.. your door got fubared and the owner's manual was pinched correct ?
I'm sorry to say that although it's a bitch it's not much
and I mean no offence to you personally but , yeah , there comes a point where the old saying suck it up buttercup is simply a reality .. 'cause eventually you have to
and eventually you have to leave it behind you and move forwards with life
yep I know it's not much comfort and I'm sorry about that but you still have your truck so it could be much worse
and yeah I've had vehicles broken into as well as my home
I've even been assulted while asleep in my bed by some pos that came wandering through the house
I've had friends whose cars were stolen , one was even burned down to the ground
- a six month old shelby
another had his car stolen from his apartment lot TWICE in the SAME MONTH
there's really only one thing you can do and that's move on and hope it isn't repeated
that's life and dwelling on it is only going to affect your mental health & happyness
as for your code card and owner's manual , you say you want a card with the code for some other vehicle on it - then go to any scrapyard and start looking for one
you might even see some interesting things there that kinda make the outing worth while
the owner's manual can possiably be had the same way if not the dealer certainly can get it for you
they build tens of thousands of the trucks every year and I'll bet even now as this year is only half over there will litterally be hundreds of them in the yards waiting to be parted out already
they may well not be out in the u pick areas of the yards as they're worth way way to much money for that at this time but if you call or walk into the wrecker's office and ask if they have a truck like your's , chances are good you'll get the manual without huge effort and likely a HELL of a lot cheeper than the dealer will want for it too
and if there's a bunch of crack heads stealing owner's manuals then you can figure they're hoping to find someone's emergency stash of ten , twenty or fifty bucks .. IF they get lucky
the damage to your truck(s) means your dealing with idiot punks who have no clue
the concern over your missing code card is probably without merrit as it likely got dumped with the owner's manual shortly after it got swiped
if the thief had wanted your truck it would already be gone as these days that's not an amatur gig anymore
and , if this was still the late 80's or early 90's it probably would be as all you needed to do then was rip the turn signal stalk out and stick a finger in the hole to push down the link rod from the key cylinder to the ignition switch below .. and that in turn unlocks the steering wheel
at least the clueless idiot punks can't just drive them away now
