I think he is going to need to remove the HVAC unit to get proper access to that panel.

If you are going to attempt it yourself at least buy a body hammer and dolly and I highly remomend this book, it is the bible of auto body metal work.

Well,
It's good to hear that you guys are optimistic about the chances of fixing it. I wasn't because of the complexity of the bends and all the creases around the tail light pocket and lower window lip (also involved) but you may not have noticed.
As far as doing it myself. Oh, hell no, Homie don't play that, I enjoy wrenching the Ex, but I know dick about body work except that it requires time and patience, two things I am not overly blessed with. That's why I have insurance.
If it can be fixed to like 95% by beating the dents out I'm cool with that. I just want it mostly cosmetically right, and 100% functionally right, and I don't want to be dealing with rust five years down the road.

I am 100% convinced that it can be 100% fixed, but like I said in my first post....gonna be spendy. Welding in a patch panel probably wouldn't be much if any less expensive.

Fwiw.... the bends are not the hard part. Matching the horizontal body line is more difficult at least with my skill level. But that said.... iI straightened out more wadded up fenders then that by hammer and dolly.

That part looks good on my donor truck. Let me know if you are interested. I left Texas this morning (Sunday), and will be going through Indianapolis tomorrow with the donor if you happen to be in the area and want to look at the area on the donor. Just let me know.

That can be repaired. its pushed in and not folded over or anything. It wont be cheap, I`m guessing around $1500-$2000!

Update:

First thanks to everyone who replied, especially msuser92 for the offer of a good panel. I've been so busy with work that I haven't really had time to jump on here to post an update.
Basically, it's not only fixable but a whole lot cheaper than I expected. Jeff Wyler Toyota Body Shop in Clarksville IN is doing the work for $1500. I was concerned at first but it's a Nationwide "on your side" body shop. So my satisfaction is guaranteed and the work is also guaranteed for life. So yay for that, I'll reserve judgement until I see the finished product but for now I'm hopeful. They said they are going to pull the dent by welding on tabs and pulling, then cutting the tabs off and refinishing. They are also going to fix another dent that's been with me since I bought the truck. That'll run me another $200 or so.
After that body shop it's off to another body shor to have two small rust patches fixed, but that's a story for another thread.
Again, thanks to everyone who replied.

1500 for that type of dent.. seems rather pricey might just be me since i avoid bodyshops or garages for vehicle work unless its forced by insurance or to get a lift kit installed an have the warrenty.for that price make sure you can stick around your vehicle so the people dont just sit around and get the job done and not just try to rack up a big price tag on your bill seen few garages do that just to get a decent labor fee out of customers

I haven't had body work done in ages so I'm not up on current labor prices. This is an insurance job so they may be soaking the insurance company for a few extra hours but I gave the estimate a quick once over and nothing looked completely out of line. Now, mechanical work, I'm up on, body work, not so much.

I have some damage to my passenger rear quarter panel (previous owner. Damage was done before I got it.) I had a local body shop give me an estimate and it was about $850. Maybe shop around you might find a better price.

if its through insurance then chances are they are trying to milk it for all the money they can an would make 1500 more understandable

RBerry 850$ does sound more reasonable for a qaurter panel with a dent or minor damage and area most likly is a factor since the places i seen work done at were small town garages usualy family owned plus not sure if your price is US or canadian might also be why its so different
