I have an 82 Bronco w/ a 300-6 and have a cracked exhaust manifold. I had intended to get a repacement for the current manifold but I have seen the posts about the EFI exhaust manifolds and their benefits. So I guess my questions are:
-will an EFI manifold bolt straight on or is some gringing and new bolt holes required.
-would you buy new or pick one up from a junkyard?
-what year efi manifold is best to go for?
-whether I go for a new replacement for the as is manifold or go for a new EFI manifold then where is the best place to purchase a new manifold from?
You may have to do some minor modification like grind a little here or there nothing too serious but it pretty much bolts down according to everyone. FYI I have a set of manifolds off a 95 and they need to go taking offers, can e-mail
New FoMoCo EFI exhaust manifolds are prohibitivly expensive. Get some from the junkyard and have them sandblasted/painted.
But for goodness sake, save yourself some money and get the Y-pipe that attaches to the manifolds; for without it, you will either have to buy a new one (expensive) or have one made (very expensive).
