New tps part number TPS228

New TPS set at .97v Ign. on, Eng. off (after adjustment and revving engine up).

The truck appears to be drivable with the new cable installed. Revs nicely, (still a miss somewhere, but not, "in your face")

How is the Idle ?

You still need a 10 mile run, before you check codes..
to borrow the timing light..........

The pic. was of the IAC that was on the throttle body I got from salvage yard when I pulled it.

I have to go to Austin, (I'm in San Antonio), in 45

minutes. Be back after.
Will pick up timing late on my way back from Austin

That's a long way for a Timing Light, none available in Universal City? Just kidding.
Glad you are making progress.
Lived down in Beeville when I was 8-9-10ish

After 10 mile drive...

KOEO

O-code 67 (I turned A/C off. I even pulled the plug off compressor and ran codes again - same story)

That's the only code we have. (thanks to a quick whack of egr)

gotta run to Austin. Won't be back until a little before 6:00.

Will have timing light upon return.

Thank you for staying with me on this.

Had a few resubmissions. I live in, what used to be the country, but internet service is blinky. Got lucky with the pics this morning.

The million dollar question, was the TPS adjustment any help to the high idle?

We will have to work the "O-67" eventually. (test the A/C CCP Switch to see if it is open or closed (0 or 1), Continuity/Resistance measurement)
Does your A/c work?

That Whack fix, just means it is sticking and you need to replace your EGR-Valve, it is leaking exhaust gases into your intake at idle, or block it off for now whilst you are troubleshooting.
I would do this next, just make a plate and liquid gasket, to block it of, disconnect and plug the vacuum line to it.

Edit; Like Sandy shows, there are many ways to block this un-metered mixture off.....

VJ a penny in mine blocked it fine when you and I were working on it.

Sorry, took much longer than I thought... doesn't it always.

No difference to the idle. TPS signal remained the same, that's a plus.

Still a little chuggy on acceleration.

Neither auto zone or O'Reilly's loan timing light. Couldn't get one today.
Walmart's is from their online store. They do not sell them at my local Walmart.
Harbor Freight has one for $30.00. Pick it up in the morning.

When I was a kid, I made a solid gasket out of a coke can and put it in there. Do that again and permatex both sides?

A/C needs recharge. I put a whole new system in it 6 months ago. (Ever feel like you're replacing the whole vehicle one part at a time)?

Is the CCP switch the blower switch or on the compressor?

I have a canister of freon. I was planning to recharge 3 vehicles when I get this running, the Ford being one of them.

Coke can and permatex will work. Any sturdy gasket material will work.

Jump the CCP Switch like you did the Power Steering Switch. Yeah, the connector on the Compressor that you disconnected.
