Got the MSD back, put it in the truck, it started and ran, so we did some leaning out of the carb (was too rich by far) - lower power valve, jet sizes and pump. Got about 40 minutes of running time, and it died.
Had to have it towed back - followed the MSD tech support directions to diagnose and the module is fried - the one they first said was bad, then said was good.
I think we are done with MSD distributors.

Just sayin'. It's points, but take the Petronix out of your old one and transplant. Wonder what the curve is though.

Faron Rhoads will sell a new Duraspark for about the same money as the rebuilt part and the recurve, and it is curved properly.
Having said that - I can just move the parts over and it should be about the same. Can confirm it with a timing light revving the engine.

Thanks - was looking around to find one. Curve was on my mind as well. There is a guy here who can do a re-curve, he did the one that is failing, but he is an hour away (four hours when you drop it and then go get it) and he costs about $200.
