I'm due for brakes/rotors and hubs, so I'm upgrading to the L99+ setup. Does anyone know if I can use my stock locking hubs and swap them over to the new Timken hub assembly? I'd love to get some nice Warns or something like that but that will need to wait until the budget allows. Thanks yall.
Hubs are good, but you should be aware that you will not be able to use anything E99 from this point. (if you upgrade) Calipers same.
Flange differences are different depth and you can throw everything away or put them on the free list regarding rotors and brackets. Otherwise you have a locker or a dragger.
All else plays well.
Hope it goes well. (I would also replace the rub lines to stainless braided as long as I was drunk)

You are stating that the caliper mounting bracket is the same, correct?
From the threads I've come across, it seems the E99 caliper assemblies are compatible with the L99 setup, and only the hub unit and rotors need to be swapped. Good idea on the stainless, gives me an excuse to get drunk
I did this just a month ago. They only thing you need to change is the hub and rotor. EVERYTHING else from the E99 will work.
Any recommendation on specific parts and/or suppliers? I need brakes and figured it would be the perfect time to swap over to the L99 setup and make life easier (cheaper?) down the road. Thanks!!!
I personally go with Autozone Duralast Gold rotors, comes with a 3 year warranty. Warp
Or whatever take them back no questions asked. And I run there ceramic pads which also are lifetime. Never buy another set of pads again.
Bumping an old thread, but I'd rather do this than start a new thread for an old topic... anyways...
Looks like it's no longer cheaper to swap up to the L99 Hubs. Right now off RockAuto, the Timken E99 hubs are $100.89 and the Timken L99 hubs are $184.89 each. Unless brake rotors offset a large part of the $168 difference to do both sides, I guess I'll be sticking with the old style parts. If it were only $5 or $10 per, I'd do it... but $168... I'll keep that cash.
