I am going to have to look harder to find out how many and where they are.
I had been thinking that there were 3 sensors.
Sounds like I may have went through the pain of wrenching one out and replacing for the heck of it.

Crawled underneath at lunch here at work...
Sure enough
Another sensor on the passenger side that I hadn't seen before.
Will have to look that one over and see if I find anything that I can get at or anything obvious besides the sensor itself.
A lot less room and access than driver's side.
As rough as it was getting the first out, don't know about getting this one out in such close quarters.

The good news is that the first one will come out easier should you ever have a need to remove it.

For the other one that still has to come out, you never know, maybe it's not in as tight.

Well...
The passenger side was an even tighter area to get at.
Another real pain to get this sensor out too.
Not quite as bad as first but took a LOT of heat and a few threads still wanted to stay put.
But the real kick in the head is

(I bet you can guess already)

Still got the P2270 code when I scanned as I drove into work this morning

Guess I better try to find out more about what actually causes this code.
Seems like everything I have been finding and reading so far has shown once the sensors get replaced no more code.
Guess there must be more to my trouble.
I tried looking over the exhaust as best I could thinking there may have been a leak or something, did not see anything obvious.
Did not see, hear, or feel any thing that seemed like a leak.
Appreciate all the help so far.
Thanks

Did you reset the PCM after replacing the sensor?

I just checked for codes using my ELM 327 plug in and the Torque ap on my phone.
I did not disconnect battery or anything like that.
Initially there were no codes.
I moved the Expedition around the driveway a couples times then drove into work this morning (60 miles).
About 1/2 way here I scanned and saw the P2270 as a pending code.

It is highly recommended that you completely reset the PCM and start over. Failure to do so can lead to unpredictable results. Performing this step is specifically required in the service manual after replacement of the sensors.

Disconnecting the battery negative cable for 5 minutes is a sure-fire way of doing it.

Whether or not it makes a difference in your case is unknown, but failing to do so is an invalid step.

Yes, but you will probably have to re-program your radio.

You may also notice some changes in drive-ability as the PCM goes through its re-learn process. This is normal and will subside in a few trips if everything is working correctly.

If resetting the ECM doesn't solve it then you could be looking at an issue with the wiring.

I can handle resetting the radio...hopefully
I tried checking all the wiring and connections before wrenching out the sensor.
I should have just sold this thing sooner...

Appreciate the help.
Fingers are crossed again
