Welcome to FTE lowjo!! 
When your Check Engine light is on or flashing, it means you have a sensor that is bad, or something in general has gone down on your vehicle. There are many codes that make the light come on.
I suggest taking your vehicle to Auto Zone. They will hook up a diagnostic machine and see what codes are causing the light - and they do it for free. Many places will check the light for you, but they charge to do it.
Go by Auto Zone and get the fault codes, and less us know what they are.

Actually a flashing check engine usually means that there is a severe problem that could be causing damage to the catalytic converters. I would have it checked out before it burns up or clogs the cats adding to your cost of repair.
