1989 Problems

Do the swap meet crawl or look around a few salvage yards. Just make sure to have a volt meter to check it before you buy it.

1989 Problems

Dump the EEC IV and go with a DURASPARK II setup -
It's a whole truckload simpler...

(By the way - this post needed to be in a more specific forum. I'll see about moving it, that way you'll have more input on it)

I'm New to posting here

Greywolf - sorry, can't afford the Duraspark II at this time. Have you made a more specific forum for this topic. If so, where is it?

I'm looking for an 89 Ranger EEC power relay. What is it? How can I purchase another? The auto parts stores around here know nothing.... idiots.

LTBoltman -- EEC Power relay . would your contact in SD have one? please reply

thanks

I don't understand what the problem is? Advance auto keeps them in stock at the store for about $12.00. Here is a picture from their website.

Thanks Franklin2

I guess the folks who run Autozone around here don't know what they are doing. I had to go to the back of the store to find it for them. geeeesh

But to no avail I still cannot get a spark from my 89 ranger 2.3L. Both coils (tested, failed, replaced), Control module (tested, fine), Diagnostic codes: 212 - Loss of Ignition diagnostic monitor (IDM) input to ECA/SPOUT circuit open

What does this mean? Can someone explain giving specifics in plain english? And what should i do?
