hi all
Today roaming through the junk yard I came across a 67-72 cab (think it is a 70) might be the cab I will restore .It has a 73-79 dash in it . the 3 square boxes with the speedo and stuff.
I was under the impresion that the dash was part of the cab and could not be removed.
Are these dashes inter changeable or is this truck a later 72
with the 73-78 dash installed at the factory ? The truck had power steering and brakes with front disks.
Pete
Keith, the swap is a possibility but it's actually just the front face of the dash panel that bolts in to the 73-79s. You will still have to contend with the forward 'shelf' with the defroster and speaker holes that is welded to the cowl. The cowl has the same physical measurements from 67-79 as evidenced by the interchangeable windshields and the fact that the F450 and up trucks from 73-79 still used the 67-72 dash housing.
Pete, just curious: can you post the last six digits of the serial number on that cab you found?
