69 big block crank

69 big block crank

Hey guys. I bought a 69 Lincoln with a 460 in it for the 79 f250 I'm building. I also picked up a 69 429. Both engines have the crank driven power steering pump which I'm not using for obvious reasons. Is that crank longer in the front to accommodate that setup or is it the same as the later ones. I'm using AC as well and trying to figure out pulley or possible serpentine setup. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Crank is the same. You will need a standard timing cover once you eliminate the PS pump.

Btw those pumps can fetch a couple hundred.

Vickers Drive crankshaft driven P/S pump:

1957/60 Mercury 383/430; 1957/65 Lincoln 430; 1959/60 Thunderbird 430; 1966/68 Lincoln 462; Some 1968/69 Lincoln/Mark III 460.

D2VZ-6019-A .. 429/460 Timing Cover-Use without Vickers Drive P/S pump / Replaced

1968/78 Lincoln/Continental Marks 460; 1969/73 Ford/Merc Passenger Cars 429/460; 1972/76 Thunderbird 460; 1973/78 Ford/Merc Passenger Car 460; 1973/79 F100/350 460.

1975/84 E250/350 460; 1983/84 F250/350 460.

1985: Ford replaced the D2VZ-6019-A 460 timing cover with the E5TZ-6019-J 460 timing cover. The timing cover seal is also different (E6DZ-6700-A).

This timing cover was used thru production date 3/8/1988.

You will also need a non hatchet style crank spacer.

Thanks for all the help. Going to drop the engine off at the machine shop this week. I'm a long way off in this project and I'm sure I will have more road blocks. Thanks again, and in advance, for the next one!

If it doens't need the machine work save your money.


I made 355rwhp and 400rwtq on a stock 68 460 with a terrible cam choice, 4-bbl, and headers...through a c6 and 9".

I had $1500 in it including the purchase price...all brand new parts.
