Hello Ford Truck Enthusiasts group!
I'm a new member from Lockport, IL who unfortunately has to unload his 1982 F-100 but also has to hit the 5 post limit before posting to the classifieds in a desperate attempt to find a market place that would actually appreciate the truck and maybe make legitimate offers on it.
I love the truck, its the unusual Essex V6 & 3 on the Tree combo only sold in 1982 and 1983. 2wd long bed, pretty original and extremely solid for a 1982, it was a southwest truck originally, original interior and the seat looks almost new. Red on Red. Even still has the working 3 on the tree shifter (hasnt ever been converted to a floor shifter!) The fragile as glass shift collar was replaced with one from a 77-78 model.
But, unfortunately I just never drive it anymore, let the plates lapse, and dont want to pay $120 to the state of IL to get new plates for something I drive about 200 miles a year.
The truck is apparently cursed by demons which prevent anyone from making a serious offer on it, so far I've gotten 4 offers from people that I have accepted then they never show up to buy it and 2 clowns have offered me $800.
