1997 mazda b4000 put new fly wheel ,clutchkit and slave cylinder. It gos thru all gears just fine except 5th gear some time it fills like a gears the but fells like a lower gear the the other times there is nothing. But i think.the od lite is flashing just dont know if its the od lite flashing
Look in the Owner Manual for the ID of the dash light that's flashing. If you don't have the manual, one can be down loaded at no cost here. Owner Manuals | fleet.ford.com
If it's the CEL that's flashing, it's indicating a engine cylinder misfire, so don't drive it until that's put right, or the misfire unburned fuel dumped into the exhaust can cause the cat converter to overheat & destroy itself internally, or melt down enough to cause serious increase in exhaust back pressure, that can cause a power loss, & or the engine to over heat, all a vicious circle.
Were you having the tranny shifting problem Before the flywheel & slave cyl work?
Ok, good to hear it's not a flashing CEL. If the air bag light is flashing, it'll flash a trouble code clue to whats bothering the system, so count the flashes, separated by a pause for the second digit, then post up the Number.
If the tranny is a replacement, sounds like it may have a problem. Did you check the tranny fluid level & condition? They had Mercon auto tranny fluid specified, so if someone has added a more vicious lube, that might be causing shifting woes.
EDIT: If the rubber shift rail plugs are wet with lube, it's time to check the tranny lube level & replace the rail plugs before they fall out & you loose the tranny lube. Dry rotted/leaking rail plugs are a common problem on the manual tranny.
Right, so unless Mazda, or someone else has done some special wiring, the OD light doesn't apply to the manual tranny.
Have you checked the tranny fluid to see if the specified Mercon-V fluid is in there & at the proper level as specified in the Owner Manual?
If you aren't certain what's in there, drain & refill with a licensed fluid that says in writing that it meets, or exceeds Ford Mercon-V specifications
Are the rubber shift rail plugs weeping fluid, or showing signs of dry rot?
Ok if the rubber shift rail plugs on the side of the tranny aren't showing any signs of being wet with tranny fluid, or input & output shafts are dry, that's a good sign. If you don't have any idea what fluid is in there, nor for how long, drain & refill with the proper fluid, so you know what you have & see how it goes.
