I found a YouTube and I’ve seen other web pics with the grill insert below. I think it is called an insert. It is NOT an overlay. I don’t think it is an entire grill “replacement”. I’ve seen the overlays that look similar to this and I’m not interested. I contacted the poster of the YouTube and he did not know from where his employee obtained the insert. I call it an insert because in the second photo you can see the bend-over tabs that hold it in after the OEM solid grill bar has been removed. Also, in the first photo, you notice you can see through the perforations, so it know it is NOT an overlay. I’m assuming the insert is polished aluminum or SS, not chromed plastic. I’ve spent way too much of my life searching the internet to find this part. I’m interested in this part for two reasons. First, bug and stone nicks would not show up as bad as on the OEM polished chrome ABS. Second, I think the perforations would let more air through than the overlays on even the OEM grill. Overlays are chromed plastic and I think the part in the picture is not plastic.

You are correct. Just the Platinum grill. Runs a little north of a grand, probably why more don't put them on their trucks. Lots of other options at that price point.
OEM is plastic. I bet the one pictured is plastic as well. Are you 100% sure what you pictured is not an overlay? I'm thinking the term overlay means it is laying over the black grill in the back, not overlaying your factory solid trim. They're $120 bucks on fleabay.
That def looks like a Platinum gril. I've got a 14 Platinum and the grill has the different insert, as well as a nickel rather than chrome finish. The finish on the grill pictures is what gives it away. If it were chrome, I would believe that the inserts were swapped out but that's the entire grill setup. And Platinum grills are not cheap, up over $2,000 not $1,000 if you are buying an OEM Ford one.
Ford is a bit pricey on there parts. Don't know why because it drives people to put aftermarket parts on there trucks. I could use a new wheel for my SHO but $600 is a bit much FORD. Also hard to be a die hard Ford fan when you cant replace parts at a reasonable price. I currently own 4 Ford vehicles and I want to bleed Ford blue but come on Ford drop it like it's hot.
