Engine Complete Dyno Results

I finally got my 400M complete and Dynoed that will be going into my 1977 F250. Since I asked several questions and got lots of help on this board I wanted to provide some feedback as to where I ended up.

Key Parts:
Block: Ford 400M Block Bored 0.030
Crank: Stock Ground 0.010
Pistons: Tim Meyer Part KB2347
Static Compression Ratio: 9.8 CR (Pistons ended up at 0.004 Below Deck)
Heads: Trick Flow Cleveland 195 (72cc Chambers, Complete)
Rocker Arms: COMP Cams Ultra Pro Magnum Roller Rockers 1.7 Ratio
Camshaft: Comp Cams Magnum 260HR (Roller Cam, Valve Lift Intake and Exhaust 0.51, Duration @ .050" Lift 206)
Carb: Quick Fuel 750 CFM
Distributor: Performance Distributor (HEI Style)
Intake: Edelbrock Performer

Below is the Dyno results. I am pretty impressed with where it ended up.
I am not sure where the torque starts, but it was already stout at 2700. They ran the Dyno runs on 87 Octane, and said they saw no signs of detonation. I will probably try to use 89 Octane though to be on the safe side.

I have also attached a document to this post that lists all part numbers used, and my Dyno Sheet. I hope this helps others and gives an idea of what to expect. Thanks for those who have helped me along the way. If there are any questions let me know.

Those are excellent results! And very similar to what my engine produced. Congrat's!

WOW Impressive. Except for the heads and pistons my build is pretty close to yours. I used 351C flat tops and gasket matched and exhaust ported iron heads.

Close to my build also. My heads are iron 2v C with pocket port, stainless valves etc. My cam is a bit larger. Desktop Dyno says I have 435hp/510tq but that's on paper.

Looks like you got a torque monster.

Very cool! thanks for posting this!

I'm in the process of having my engine redone at a shop, so I'm happy to be able to compare/contrast what I'm doing with what you've done.

Very nice torque monster you've got there!

Aaron - Not to hijack this thread, but are you having Tim's oiling system mods done? I hope so. You can see them on the Oiling System Mod's tab here: 351M and 400 - ???Gary's Garagemahal.

Nice build Joel!

Nice horsepower and a super flat torque curve! It should be a great engine in that F-250.

I noticed no ARP rod bolts. Did you do any special connecting rod preparation?

Hi - I did use ARP rod bolts, used the original rods, that the machine shop "reconditioned". Not sure what exactly reconditioning meant other than measuring and insuring all were up to spec.

Reconditioning should mean that they took a bit off the rod, which means the rod will be too small with the cap on, and then they take the rod out to spec. That way the rod is perfectly round.

Thanks Joel! I just didn't see them listed in your parts list.

Be sure to give us another report when you get the engine in the truck!

Joel Cassell,What was the timing set at for the dyno run? You said it was dynoed on 87oct, was the cam installed on the 106* centerline? That has a nice dcr of 8.328 if it was installed on a 110* centerline your dcr would be 8.11093. Just curious it seems you would have to run premium with a 8.3 dcr but you should get away with 87oct with a dcr of 8.11.
