Question Diablo performance

I have a 2000 F-150 with the 4.6 L engine in it. If I get a Diablo chip for 87 octane and 93 octane programs, will the improvement in "performance" be noticeable?
I know (for 93 octane), I'll see increase HP and torque ... what I am wondering is, are the changes slight or will I say after putting the chip in, "Wow, what a difference!"

Yes, you should see a really good difference that gets even better within the first 100 miles (Ford computers are adaptive).

Okay, the chip is in my truck now. If the chip was not installed properly, or if the connections not good enough, would my truck run like normal?

The reason I ask is I switched between 93 program and stock (using correct procedure) and didn't notice a huge difference. I am going to try again but I want to convince myself that the chip was installed properly before trying stock vs 93 again.

PS. I thought I felt a shift difference between 87 program and the stock. I'll try this again too but first I need to ensure the chip is in properly!

All the connections are clean ... some do have a small bit of copper showing through on the edges!

If the connectors aren't cleaned properly the truck will usually not start in the center position. Per the switch paperwork, you can't switch between stock and performance with the engine running --- it will ignore the switch and stay in its mode. Make sure you're running 100% premium, not 3/4th or whatever 87 octane fuel you had left over. Also, give it a few miles, (100 miles and a few key cycles), it'll get better.

Here's another questions for ya! I have a stage 3 Diablo chip (87 octane towing program and a 93 octane towing program). In the area where I live, I can only get 91 octane premium. I've put the 91 octane in ... no pinging or engine knocking!

a) Should I get the chip re-programmed for a 91 octane towing package?
b) I probably am not getting the most out of the 93 octane program now but am I better off keeping this (when I do come across 93 octane) and continue running 91 octane until then? In other words, am I getting more performance with 91 octane on a 93 octane program or am I better off running 91 octane on a 91 octane program?
c) am I hurting my vehicle by running 91 octane when the chip is for 93 octane!

Thanks in advance for your reply!
