So after sitting for over 5 years, I will begin bringing my bronco back to life soon. When it was parked it was simply because the battery was toast. A couple weeks after that, I tried to jump her but when I turned the key on, fuel started leaking from the inlet line for the electric fuel pump. So besides those 2 items, and draining the old fuel, what else would you guys recommend I do before cranking her back up? I figure hoses and belts should probably be replaced? As well as pre oiling the cylinders? And I could use your input on the best way to do that as well....
What year truck do you have? Sounds like it is injected so you have that system to inspect. I would say the biggest thing is to go over the vehicle front to back checking all the systems needed to start the vehicle.
1) Exhaust
2) Fuel lines
3) Fuel Tank
4) Ignition, Plugs, wires, cap and rotor
5) Fluids (Gas, Oil and water/radiator)
6) Belts, Hoses and wiring
Once all that has been at least looked at and any leaks fixing and fluids topped off or replaced. I would pull the fuse for the fuel pump and put a little marvel mystery oil in each cylinder then bump the key to verify the engine turns.

Good luck and lets see so picks.
it used to be in my signature but I guess my signature left haha it's a 78 bronco ranger xlt. 400 C6, 4.11's. Retrofitted with an electric fuel pump. Wearing a stock manifold and carb but as soon as she's running again I plan on an edelbrock perforer dual plane and Holley 600. I will definitely need to clean the tank. And new brick and plugs. Would it be better to try and turn the motor by hand first? Or will pulling the plugs be sufficient enough for reducing the load? And should i pull the coil wire or something to keep it from arking?
If you can turn the motor by hand that is good to do. If if can get it to turn more than one full revolution even better. That way you know there is no rust in the cylinders. Post some pics of your ride when you get a chance, also good luck.
