A curious mileage question - NOT MPG related!
Just curious. I spend a lot of time in my truck - both for work, and for traveling for our horse related activities. While I knew I was racking up miles in a hurry, I had never kept track. Here's what I discovered over the past month (over 30 days):
2,513 miles work related
2,410 miles ranch related miles
350 "personal" miles (grocery store, etc.)
That amounts to 5273 miles last month. For me, this is "average". This is on my F250 V8.
I spoke with our vet last week, and he has a 2001 F250 CC Short Bed V8 - he has 147,000 miles on his truck (YIKES!!!). No wonder he charges us so much! Gotta pay for all that gas!
Is anyone else keeping track, and if so, what kind of miles are you racking up?
Just got me to thinking is all.....

You got it all wrong! He charges you that much, because he dosn't ever work. When He does, he has to charge an arm and leg for status quo. figure it out, if he has had the truck for 3 years, At an average speed of 35 mph, (way high for national average), he spends about 20% of his life behind the wheel. 30% is spent sleeping, 10% eating and $h!++ing, and factor in 30% time for family, vacation, R&R, social obligations, etc. leaves him about 10% for work. That is 890 hrs a year, Now, for a 6 figure income, plus all the overhead associated with his own business, employees, office, profesional services, he needs to charge somewhere between $200 & $300 per hour.
