Clicking behind 4X4 buttons

Clicking behind 4X4 buttons
Hey guys, before I dive in to my problem this weekend, I need some advice.
Whn driving down the road, from time to time, (every minute or so), I am hearing a relay like noise / clicking directly behind the shift of the fly 4X4 buttons on my 89. It sounds like a relay clicking numerous times a second. I pulled fuse 6 that controls speed control and shift of the fly and I am still getting the noise but not as much.
Anything come to mind off the top of your head that I need to check or look at first ?
It just irritates me and I want it stopped.
