Glitchy Electronics?

Have you guys experienced glitches in your trucks electronics?

My truck does a lot of small things that are kind of annoying.

I've had the navigation screen not start or go blank or just freeze three times. But that's ok, I can "reset" that pretty easily and it doesn't happen that often.

But the annoying glitches are detailed below:

Not remembering the truck/trailer configurations when turned off!

I have to remember to press the tow/haul button and exhaust brake every time I turn the truck off. If you have to do this once or twice maybe, but why can't the truck just remember how I left it off?!

I plugged in my boat trailer and it turned off the blind spot monitoring which started working on it's own after the dash telling me it could not make it work with my inputs (trailer is 30 ft long). But it started working on its own none the less. The truck will even say that blind spot monitoring is off and it still works!

This last weekend, all of a sudden the blind spot monitoring stopped working all on its own. I could've used it as I was driving back at night from the lake.

I also noticed that my truck started showing what gear I was in all by itself, it was kinda cool I admit. This happened spontaneously a month or so after I bought it, this phenomenon stuck around for 5 months or so and then it just disappeared last night!

Then, when I went to drive home last night, the dash board illumination was set on it's highest setting. It did all this all on its own!

Do I have a ghost in my machine?!

Navigation, not sure, I only use Android Auto and Waze/Gmaps.

The tow haul mode and exhaust brake need to be turned on everytime you want to use them. This is as intended, I certainly wouldn't want to remember to have to turn them off every time.

The BLIS, I have no idea. I hated it on my dad's F150 so I made sure not to get it on this truck.

The gear indicator, I'm pretty sure you're just hitting the +/- gear selector button on the shifter on accident. Try hitting it and you'll see it disappears or shows up, then allows you to lock out gears.

Write down all the issues and if you can video tape them happening if it does not occur on demand. If this ends up just being the odd bug no biggie but if things start acting up you will have a record to work off and hold more weight st the dealer.

I. Had a truck where the electronics went wrong and stayed to get worse the dither they dove into it. Having records of it all gives more to work with and also helps dealer when reaching out to Ford.

Most dealerships will not change out a part until its proven broken. If the problem does not happen on demand even if you bring it in your likely just getting it back as is.

There have been plenty of black screen threads though, so I know I'm not alone there atleast!

The black screen is the computer recognizing an error code and restarting. It's considered a good thing as long as it recovers. The catch is non of this shows up in the computer when you plug into the truck.

There is so many codes my dealership needed a team to decipher them.

I spent months talking to the dealer and ford Canada. Some of what they told me could be BS but some of it has to be right lol

Navigation.
- Locked-up through 2 truck starts then cleared itself
- "Lost GPS" signal then decided I was 100 feet to the left of all roads through the next truck restart.

That was this last week.......

My radio has locked up on truck restart a few times while on Sirius, get a spinning loading icon, but it never actually loads until a restart. Not sure it is a Sirius issue or radio related, but it is annoying

I've got a few. Cooled seat is on many times on start up. It wasn't on when the truck was shut down. Pre-collision sensor blocked error ever hour or so on last 400 mile trip. BT streaming on shuffle and has to be turned off frequently.

The radio is all fords coding. At most serious radio provides then antenna and decoding modal but even that is unlikely as it's mass produced for so many vehicles.

I think the majority of these bugs are related to some coding issues but it is pretty much impossible to trace. Remember that the sync center console module opporates separate of the other systems in the truck. Blis cruise etc are not the same system.
