2000 roed ranger brake problem

I have a y2k ranger xlt 4x4 that is giving me an intermittent problem, when I hit the brakes I get a strong pull from the right front brake and it starts to lock up, in the last year I've had a brake job, had the ABS sensors replaced and just recently had a rear leaking brake cylinder replaced. This pulling to the right has happened only a few times, last time was Fri and drove it today and it was fine, scratching my head.

Check the flexible brake hoses on the front wheels. They are known to deteriorate on the inside while the outside looks fine. Small pieces of the hose can clog it up causing that side to either get a reduced brake or, in some cases, the brake stays on for a second after the peddle is released.

does it do it after it rains? my 2000 ranger xlt 4x4 has this issue on the rear drums but only when it is damp out, I don't even have to drive in the rain. The moisture seems to condense on the drums/shoes and the brakes lock up. after I drive for a short bit it is ok.

Another possibility is a front caliper beginning to stick. You mentioned front brakes done recently... assuming just pads & rotors? A stiff caliper would create more brake pressure on one side and often causes a pull. You could put the front end on jackstands and turn each wheel for comparison. Of course if the problem is intermittent you may not notice one wheel being hard to turn. If calipers then they could be rebuilt with a kit otherwise most nowadays just replace with new/remanufactured - around $100 each at your local auto supply store (always replace both together). Hope you get it figured out.
