I did that crap for 29 years.....all done and enjoying the retirement.
This truck is going to be a Sunday afternoon ice cream getter. I have a 2016 Lariat drw 4x4 to haul the camper and boat.
Pretty close to my planned situation. Dad's truck will be the trailer queen, Big Blue will do the dirty work like hauling rocks for the yard, moving people's furniture, or maybe some off-roading. And Blue will haul the people and boat. But, that leaves the '50 Chevy - hmmmmm.

I forgot it. Maybe it'll be for street racing? Wait! Dad's truck will be the star there given the 500 ft-lbs of torque and the lack of weight on the rear wheels. Ok, maybe the Bee'll be for high speed touring?
Dad had a 55 Chevy truck w/a hopped up 265 and a Hydra-Matic with a shift kit. It would chirp the tires on every shift.
As for the Power-Flush, they were notorious. The only thing worse was the Terrible-Glyde.
2 speed Power-Flight introduced in 1953, available in Imperial/Chrysler/Dodge/Desoto thru 1956 and 1955/56 Plymouth.
Replaced by 3 speed Torque-Flight in (I think) 1957 (but it might have been 1956). Plymouth was not available with an A/T prior to 1955.
Power-Flight was ChryCo's first A/T, replaced Clunk-O-Matic used previously.
Ever drive an Imperial/Chrysler/Dodge/Desoto with Clunk-O-Matic and its associated "Safety Clutch?" If you have, you know why it's called Clunk-O-Matic!
Bill - Never drove a Clunk-O-Matic. Power-Flight was aptly named. But the Torque-Flight was a good tranny. Had one in my first Bee, and could melt the rear tires.

The TF 904/998/727 was also used in AMC's from 1972 till the end in 1988.

Yes, there's a dream of a Bullnose Bronco. My son thinks he wants a Toyota tricked out for off-roading. Instead, I want to do a Bronco. I'd like to keep it light up front, so my dream is one of Tim Meyer's aluminum 400 blocks, although an aluminum-headed cast iron 400 is more likely. Backed by an E4OD, it would do everything he wants to do and then some.
And, since it will be my money and time I think I know who wins the debate. Now we just need him to be in a position/location where he can use one - and he currently isn't.
