I'm not sure if I should start with some timbers on top of the frame rails like the flatbeds..

I bolted pressure treated 2 x 4 on top of a few of the deck cross members for fastening the all weather wood decking.

If I were still working at the mine I'd try and get a shaft guide and mill it to size, Douglas Fur is pretty durable wood and lasts forever..

The all weather wood has stood up well in the car trailer decking we built in 2003, it is still in really good shape.

I have some Ash boards that are nice and dry. I can dress them up in my planer and stain them, would likely last for as long as I have the truck..

At our age we certainly don't have to worry about a 40 yr plan any more.
