AC engine over heats

In need of help with my ac. Here in Florida summer are humid and need issue resolved immediately. The air conditioner works blowing cold air but, when the truck is parked running after a certain amount the truck over heats blowing hot water out of the radiator cap with lots of pressure. The water pump, cooling temperature sensor, and thermostat (195) are brand new. Any suggestions on how to repair this problem?

Need info on truck, model engine etc what year,

most likely your fan clutch is bad, runs about 30-50 bucks at any auto parts store, and an afternoon in the garage to replace.

Fan clutch or radiator. I had problem with the AC causing overheating in my truck when I first got it. I discovered that at some point in time the PO had stuck the smallest radiator possible in the truck. I pulled it out and stuck the biggest one I could find in there. No cooling problems due to undercapacity since.

when the truck is at a complete stop in park and on after about 15 minutes the temperature starts raising and the pressure start releasing anti freeze through the radiator cap.
I was told to remove the thermostat completely, is that a good idea?

Radiator was replace by previous owner. I will try replacing the fan clutch first and taking it from there.
How do i determine if the fan clutch is bad?

Lol don't take the thermostat out completely to drive it around....but, if there's crud in the system it is a good idea to drain it, then take the thermostat out, put thermo housing back on, and flush the system until it's clean.

The fan clutch should engage more and more as it gets hotter. You can take a heat gun to the sensor and see if it becomes harder to turn the fan...the sensor is a coil thermometer at the center of the fan between the radiator and fan.

Does your truck have a fan shroud?

How many times have we seen multiple bad thermostats right out of the box?

Answer: Dozens...

Just because it's new does not mean it's good.

The same can be said for radiator caps. They are cheap chinese junk these days.

A bad thermo wouldn't explain extreme pressure at the cap...unless it's not extreme pressure but simply a bad cap like you said.

Head gasket is also not out of the question if everything else checks out.

Like '89F2urd said, not a good idea, but I did run 180 deg T-stat's when I lived in Florida.

Be sure you install in right direction.

lol... wont take the thermostat out then. I will drain it, take the thermostat out, put it back on, install a new fan clutch, and hope that works.
No fan shroud ... just did a little research and the shroud makes a difference.

You should definitely have a fan shroud! That fan will end up recirculating a lot of air. Also, replace stat with a 180.

since you done have a shroud and are about to invest in a fan clutch, I'd say remove the belt driven fan and go electric. They come with their own shroud and can cool much better than the belt driven, especially at idle.
