Diesel making noise
Hey guys, I need a little help here. I just bought a 95 f350 crew cab psd. I was driving it home and I started to smell something, may have been antifreeze. Not long after that the engine got louder, making a noise like a humming when I accelerated. I got home let it sit for about 2 hours and drove it around for a few, no more noise. Any ideas on what this could be?

I'm pretty sure that the humming sound is the fan clutch compensating for increased temps. Mine does this on hot days and after idleing for a while. It almost always goes away after driving at speed for a short distance. As I have read in other posts this is normal. As for the anti freeze smell, close observation will point out the problem.
