Color Matched Door Handles

I'm getting to the point that I don't care for my stock black door handles. I was thinking chrome but now thinking painted color matched. Has anyone been able to purchase these already painted or is that aftermarket/do-it-yourself only?

I purchased from 1a auto, horrible! Though they gave me a refund, the handle itself moves and messed my paint up within one day. Spend the money and buy oem paint match ready handles or take the ones from your truck and paint them.

i went through this and found the best solution for me was to get the paint to sample OEM ford platinum handles. They have body color surrounds with chrome pull handles. its a nice mix

There are color matched handles out there. I got mine from White Bear Lake, but any dealer should have them. Takes the hassle out of getting the painted and the color matching.

x2. I don't know the price difference but you can either paint your old ones or get the ones for the Excursion. I know they have color-matched handles for the X (which are the same doors as our trucks).

the non textured handle paint up the best
textured ones tend not to look as good painted as the smooth ones meant to paint

dealers use to have more color matched handles but i have found they have less and less now

hi use item like door handles i would prefer to use OEM as usually fit better and durability issues are better with the OEM handles

i have helped several SD owners with the handles and seen most of whats out there

best to take a few days and do color/combo/ trials on your truck. you can mix and match handles with surrounds (they come apart) to get 5 or 6 combos per truck

i have parked on streets with foot traffic with a different handle on each door and taken a survey what people liked best. gives great feedback as to what other like and why.

This is one of the things I miss from my Excursion. I'll be swapping mine in a year or so once funds are replenished from buying the truck in the first place.
