Official high was 120 today. A/C got the vent temp down to about 77. Super Cooling radiator kept the truck under 210
Official high 120 Coolant temp about 200 Vent temp about 79
I live in the humid mountain region where PA, MD, and WV are all close together. 95 degrees can be brutal with the moisture. It was only in the high 80s Saturday and a festival I was at was miserable in the afternoon. Although I have been in the Phoenix and Tucson area when the temps were about 111-115 and it is crazy hot, but don't sweat uncontrollably to the point your clothes are drenched.
Crap! Does your truck know it's a "Dry Heat"? I'm in a normally hot and humid area, but this spring and early summer has been pleasantly mild. But we all know that'll end very soon.
I just run 2 windows, 2 vents, and a slider open and go 60 MPH, plus have a wet bandanna around the neck helps.
Those blue Lowes snap re-cool towels do work. Yes it hot all over, and yes I enjoy the a/c in the backhoe when I am in it. I need to recharge the a/c in the 77 and the 78...nah just 5 window it and go.
Stay cool folks, and remember to have plenty of shade and water for pets and livestock.
Its 101 already here on the other side of the state papabear. with 107 yesterday and a high of 105 today. makes me kind of clad I've been working the night shift...
I honestly don't know how you guys live down there. but I suppose its all in what you know and are used to. Go Canada Go
Up here we almost broke 80 deg yesterday and the truck overheated idling in traffic, and developed the suspected vapor lock issue ive been having. However the lines and filters all cool to the touch, holley 4160 fairly warm but the pump (electric down on the frame rail next to the pwr steering coils) was pretty hot.
More likely is the original rad in this thing full of pin holes and no fan shroud. still working things out.
Its a nice dry heat down here. I spent 10 years living in Texas, and the last 4 years or so of that were in central Texas, 114 for a high and 85% or so humidity. yuck. I'll take the desert southwest. at least the heat breeds thunderstorms where I'm at and it cools off real quick. That, and the temps here are 10-15* cooler than Tucson, and 15-20* cooler than Phoenix. I'm just glad I don't get much snow to deal with
It does get pretty warm for a month or two. Not sure what's worse-the dry heat or the monsoon humidity. Although the monsoons do bring a pretty impressive lightning show most every evening.
We do get the occasional earthquake. A few years back, on Easter Sunday, a 7.2 struck Mexicali-about 60 miles away.
But I'd rather have a few warm months than the snow, sleet and ice others have. I can drive the trucks all year and not worry about road salt.

Well you do make a valid point!
I'm back home, in Southern Missouri. So I've seen the Ice, Snow, Tornadoes. and we've had Earthquakes 90 minutes or so to the south of us in Arkansas.
Our road salt is disastrous to vehicles. But i wouldnt trade snow for anything. Grew up skating and playing hockey on the lake in my front yard, sledding all winter, and skiing as well. If you have a garage theres no ice chipping or thawing your vehicle. And an old plow truck makes clearing a snow covered 800' driveway into a ten mimute job.
In the aummer its perfect, windows open, breeze blowing, no ac living just freah clean crisp air!!! Been allover the states and most of the world, theres nothing like this place!
