Hey there, so I have been having this odd issue that when the throttle is held to a constant, roughly 2k rpm in this case on my 2014 F350 that when it shifts into 2,3,4 you can feel it shift, the rpm's drop, and then they rise, and then drop back and its odd, I have a SCT 7015 that I bought from 5Star tuning, and I feel this same thing with an without a tune, attached is a data log I got today, you can tell from the green line that I held the petal pretty smooth pedal position, Then from the red line you can see the gearing change, and then the yellowish orange line is the RPMs.. and you can easily tell when it shifts gears and the rpm drops and then there is some wierd dip and raise going on.. Any experts out there? This has been happening for about 4+ months with no change, when you step on it and keep it around 3 - 4k rpm it shifts great and I never feel these dips and rises.
Took it to the ford dealer and they drove it and looked at it said it had a contaminated MAF, cleaned it and reset the computer, I noticed the same hesitation driving it home last night, I will verify when I drive it to and from work tonight.
IMHO, although it is always worth a try to clean the MAF, most of the time they have to be replaced
I have had a few dirty MAF's in the past, but I never had this type of hesitation and rpm dips, the last two rigs that had a dirty maf it affected the shifting especially at WOT, this on the other hand shifts great at WOT.
Edit: 6/23/17 - Drove the pickup yesterday and then again today, Same hesitations are there.. I will be bringing it back to the dealer.
Not sure if its related or not, But i just got done replacing the top 8 spark plugs in the pickup, non of them looked all that bad to me, but time will tell, I will be replacing the bottom 8 plugs before too long, just didnt have time last night to get to them. I did notice that my rpm drops right after shift seem to have gone away, this is the first time driving the pickup since I changed the plugs, Hopefully it will fix the issue..
I thought it was a bit odd that all of the plugs had a white tip where coil makes contact with the top of the plug. not sure if its related to the issue or not..
Plugs are layed out from the front to the rear of the motor on the respective left (passenger) and right (driver) sides from middle to the outside.
