'68 F-100 band adjustment in vehicle
Hi Guys,
My '68 pickup works well, shift OK and all but I'l like to know what the adjust procedure is for the bands. Seems like maybe little more 'slop' than it should be, I'll get it up on a rack, check and adjustment but need to know which way tightens the bands and how much slack (turn of the adjustment) you leave so they don't drag.
So:
1. Clockwise or counter-clockwise to tighten them ?
2. How many turns from snug back to a relaxed and correct free band ?
I know there's a lock nut on each, no problem there, you lock it snug.
Thanks much,
warren e
