On at least two occasions I have had the tow haul engage on its own. I look down and see it engaged. I know there is no way I engaged it because it happens after I have been driving for awhile after putting it in drive.
I don't think so. I put the truck in drive and leave the gear shift alone. I'm not driving around stroking the gear shifter or anything. I put the truck in drive, put my arm on the armrest and drive.
I have not had this happen. But I sure would like it if the system had an option on the trailer configured to turn on Tow/Haul when that trailer is connected.

Not had this happen yet either, but I like the idea of the option to have it turned on when sensing a trailer has been hooked up.
Turning on the exhaust brake should also be an option in the trailer configuration. Some flat landers may not appreciate the exhaust brake but here in the Rocky Mountains it is worth its weight in gold.

I too would like it to automatically engage when trailer is attached. And the exhaust brake is useful plenty of times on flat lands. Just getting off the freeway is easier with the brake engaged. I really enjoyed this new feature on my recent trip. The 2011-2016 engine brake just doesn't compare.
SSM# 46622 It basically says that automatic tow/haul will occur over 40 MPH when it sees the brakes applied over 2 seconds each press it counts 20 events then engages. I got stuck in bad shore traffic last night and I actually had it happen to me.
It happens to me a lot. The dealer found the issue from ford site. Makes no sense to me as the truck knows when you hook up a trailer doe why does it think you are towing due to braking if nothing is attached. Such a pain. I have had it happen more frequently than 20 times braking.
