1989 Ford F150 want truck to start instatly
#46
I put in a new ignition switch in because it would only start in neutral. But before I installed the new switch they gave my a other part for the ignition that went on top of the steering column. And I stared to pull of the steering wheel and un-screwed the turn signal thingy lol. And things I notice it wasn't the part I needed. So I put back together the way I had it and now it won't start. Only way it will start is when I touch the silanoid please help me

Unfortunately the 92-97 odometer rolls over at 399,999.9 back to 300k so you won't see 600k on an OBS odometer. So, any truck reading in the 300k range could be 300k, 400k, 500k, and you'd not be able to know unless you know the history of the truck.

Yea me too. And if he does, on original drivetrain, it'll be such a low compression tired old motor he's lucky it runs at all.
My recently rebuilt 351w will occasionally start "instantly", but it is far from consistent and only when warm.

EFI: Electronic Fuel Injection
"wiping" that will eliminate any tune information, rendering the truck unable to do anything but crank. It won't start, it won't try to start. MAYBE whoever told you about "wiping the EFI" meant to clear the memory. Disconnect the battery for 20 minutes.

Yall think you're funny with the jokes, but you just look like a bunch of ---. The truck was a family friend who was the original owner. I've known him since I was about 4 yrs old. So, not sure what you guys are getting it? Anyways I don't need to validate something as stupid as miles on my truck, considering I was just pointing out that guy had 300k and couldn't start his and mine was over 600k and started fine, that was it. And that --- about the EFI wiping, I take it you guys are --- scientist aren't you then? --- know everything about everything don't you? Never once had to learn something?
I love how people get BIG ***** when they're on the internet, wouldn't be running your mouths like that in person I guarantee you that. Especially when someones just trying to ask for some help and advice, what kinds of pieces of --- are you?
On edit by Encho: please refrain from these tantrums, you're a grown adult I assume, and you could easily respond in a way better manner instead of this, specially when most of the answers are from members trying to help you out. The fact is, you won't be able to instantly start any of these trucks if it's kept stock, specially a high mileage vehicle like yours. You would need perfect compression, timing, a powerful battery, and a powerful starter, and probably even a different ECM. And even then you probably won't achieve what you want. A start after the engine has been warmed up to operating temperature is completely different from a cold start, so that video you posted isn't a proper example.
P.S.: You'll get a warning this time, but you better go take a look at the site guidelines if you intend to stay around for long, insulting other members... that doesn't fly here.

No I have a 5.0L, still I'm not gonna just listen to these --- here. Thinking --- is impossible, I remember how this truck started 15 years ago. And it isn't how its starting today. If I need to take the damn engine out and fix every damn piece one by one it's gonna get done.

Tons of people tried helping and we never heard back so it sounded like someone was trolling and trying to start ****. The way that
truck starts in the video is a hot start. I'm thinking the only thing that would help you is possibly getting a super high end starter that cranks faster kind of like cranking a newer v6. Good luck man, sorry you couldn't get the answer you liked. Your lingo was confusing and no one knew exactly what
you wanted.
