Fuel Gauge Reading E
I googled and tested some things and came to the conclusion that he needs a new sending unit but want to be sure before ordering it. Test are as follows.
Note: The truck as been converted to 12v.
Disconnected the fuel gauge wire at the sending unit and grounded it, the fuel gauge went straight to Full.
Tested the OHM rating at the sending unit and got a reading of 22 Ohms.
Gas tank is roughly half full.
That being said, this is the sending unit I was going to purchase.

You may want to read thru this similar thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...t-working.html
There are many other similar threads. The gauge systems on these trucks do not work off straight resistance like more modern systems, see the diagram in that thread. The fact you are reading a resistance across the sender is a good sign, it means the heater element in the sender is intact, but the contacts may have varnish on them. First thing I'd try is removing the sender and spraying with carb cleaner. Also make sure the tank itself is grounded.
