How did I miss this thread? Some of you miss the point so let's put out the facts. First-lowered (3 inches) does not mean slammed-it means "safer and better handling". Second-20" dubs can be had for $200 apeice at Centerline wheels (forged). Third-90% of us never go offroad,so having 9 inches of clearance is dumb-dumb-dumb! Fourth-getting wider tires with a lower profile can be done in still keeping the same "height" so no speedo error will occure. Fifth-the ride comfort didn't change with my 20" tires (305-50-20). My expy is probably one of the best handling in the country-no lean anymore for one thing. Hope everybody enjoys their mods-God bless America and our expy!

You can adjust the speedo with a computer programmer to fix any speedo error.

The purpose is to suit the owner's taste (whatever it might be).
It's not up to us to judge them...

The only thing I dislike about another person's vehicle is when it affects me personally... like the "BOOM,BOOM,BOOM" next to me or behind me at a stop light...that's when I'd like to have the bumper sticker that reads, "If I wanted to hear your stereo, I'd be in your car!"

I enjoy a wide range of music, but I like listening to MY music...not being forced to endure someone else's.

This is the greatest country in the world, with the most freedom to be ourselves and modify our vehicles to suit US... and NO, I don't have DUBS on my 98 Expy - if anything, I'd go with the off-road look...maybe some 315s and a 6" lift. But I can't do that because I can barely clear my garage door opening now and its stock.

Regards,
Scott

I think if a person can afford to drive a SUV, he should be able to do whatever he wants to it. I have 22 inch rims and tires on mine, but in Liberty, IL is a guy with an excursion with a lift kit and monster tires. I LOVE THAT THING!!!! We all purchased our trucks for different reasons. 99% of the time, I'm in mine alone. I didn't really need it for the room, and I don't off-road, but I think the Expedition is one beautiful truck. I respect what others do to their trucks. I have seen and can appreciate a good looking truck (whether with big rims, or big tires). Whatever someone has done, we have to respect that they have spent their time, and their money to make their truck what they want it to be. I want to show some LOVE for everyone's expression of themselves through their trucks.

Here's my Expedition with 22 inch ION 188 rims and 305/45/22 Kuhmo's !!

For those who don't like that look, you're sheltered. I can appreciate beauty across the board..... what do I mean? Well, I have my Expedition for looking good and being my "nice" car. And I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler for getting dirty and going and playing. I love both looks. Instead of settling for one... I chose to own both. I have friends how love my Expy and call my Jeep "redneck" and I have friends who love my Jeep and call my Expy "Gangsta". I guess I'm confused... I love em both.

My Jeep for that "4X4 Redneck Look."

It's a grille from a company called "Street Scene" and it's called the "Speed Grille".

I searched for "Street Scene Speed Grille" on a yahoo search and browsed a bunch of different internet sites until I found the best deal. I paid $237 shipped for the upper and the lower. They make chrome and billet, I chose chrome to match wheels.

I will say that putting the new grille in takes a LOT of work. You have to cut up the stock grille .. sand it.. and then paint it. Good thing is that only a little bit of the stock frame ends up showing when it's all said and done. Under close (and I mean CLOSE) inspection you can see the work that was needed to swap out the grille. It's a lot of work and should only be done by someone who feels comfortable hacking up, sanding and painting the original grille.
