I just bought a 302 out of a 77 f100 to put in my 78, when I ran numbers it said d1oe--6015--AA was that original motor or swapped in because I keep reading and it said Torino motor
D1OE 6015-AA is the Engineering (Casting) I.D. No. It identifies as a 1971 design casting. Somewhere close to that should be another casting no which will be a date code. Do you see that?
It's not the original engine. It's not a Torino block either. It might be from a Torino, but there's no telling. The "O" is not a direct indication of what Ford stuck it into at the factory. It only tells you that the engineering costs were assigned to the mid size car line when it was designed. Mustangs used E7TE heads and F1SE blocks, that illustrates what I'm saying here.
That is not a given at this point. Most likely is not, but...
Thats your opinion, and all it is. It's definitely not original given those casting numbers. Ford made several castings of the 302 after 71. Three that I'm aware of.
Yes, it is IMO, as also your position is. I learned many years ago to never say never concerning FOMOCO. I could give you just one instance as to where it may be original but you have your mind set so I won't bother.

I too said the same, but in this case, Ford revised the 302 block for 72. (Slightly taller deck height) And as theres nothing remarkable about the 71 block, there's no point discussing it, nor telling the OP that its original to that truck. There's a .0001% chance it came in the truck from Ford
