Hey guys, Does anyone know of a company that sells precut seat foam for a 1966 Custom Cab? Thanks I am pretty sure the seat foam is 5 inch thick.

I contacted SMS and they do not sell the foam.

 

 

I think a 6" thick piece of foam should be used here.

 

Is that a home made template?

 

mrpotatohead, it is a home made template. I used a scale and laid it across where the markers are, then cut with a home made battery charger hot wire. Shaped with a cut off wheel on a grinder. This foam will have a 1" thick sheet of poly fill glued on top. I did a dry fit of the upholstery, fits nice.

That is outstanding! Way to problem solve. Do you know if the foam is the same for a 67 -72?

 

mrpotatohead, I have a stock "67" seat foam here. Pretty good shape other than being 50 yrs old. The height on the foam measures 6.5". On the "66" it measures 6". Worse condition overall. I believe they are exactly the same other than that.

11 qty Fiber Fill Medium - 1" Thick 60" Wide x linear ft.
1 qty Lux High Qual. Foam - Third sheet -82" x 24" x 5".
For the "67" I would go with the 6" thick foam and 1" Fiber fill.
I bought extra Fiber Fill Medium. ^

 

Good Luck. This was easy enough. I will have dimensions for the template for a little while. Maybe I can draw this up at work, and post it here.
